Olivia Willis was awarded one of the inaugural community star awards at the Community Star launch and celebration event on Thursday 1 December 2016 at PwC’s offices at Embankment Place, London.
Since Olivia set up PPF with Anna and a group of friends in 2012, she has put in over a 1,000 hours running the organisation and a plethora of activities such as training courses, lectures, fundraising events, mentoring sessions, mums and dads network, pro-bono consulting and hobby clubs for the benefit of the Polish community in Scotland and in other European countries. She give her time freely and devotes enormous energy to everything I do. Her tireless commitment has marked difference to lives of hundreds of young Poles who she has helped realise their potential. In 2014 she received the prestigious “The Outstanding Pole in Scotland” award from the General Consul of Poland in Edinburgh and the Polish Promotional Emblem Foundation. The award reflected her outstanding contribution to volunteering, setting a fine example of service to the community and promoting a positive image of Poland and Polish people in the world.
Anna Ruszel, CEO said: “We are immensely proud of Olivia and everything she has done for us. She is an inspiration to her colleagues and never fails to motivate and inspire people. Without her dedication, commitment and loyalty PPF would not be as strong as it is now.”
Congratulations and thank you to Olivia and well done to all winners and the nominees. Thank you for your support.
